MISSION OF THE PLANNING OFFICE: |
To manage and administer the delivery of planning services to the community in a manner that is appropriate and responsive to the needs of the various Boards and Commissions, property owners, developers, and general citizenry. This mission is accomplished in part through:
Assisting the Planning Board with the maintenance of the Master Plan;
Drafting, reviewing, and making recommendations for land use regulations;
Preparing studies on an as-needed basis;
Maintaining the data base for preparation of GIS maps;
Reviewing and commenting on land use applications and plans;
Providing administrative services and staff support for the Conservation Commission Historic District Commission, the City Council on an as-needed basis, and any other committee as assigned; and
Meeting with property owners, developers, and the general citizenry to explain rules, regulations, ordinances, and procedures.
