"Inspire Play"
Mission: The mission of the Recreation and Parks Department is to provide a variety of quality recreation programs and special events, and to effectively develop and maintain recreation facilities for the community's use and enjoyment, which together enhance the quality of life for all residents of the City of Lebanon.
Services Provided:
The Recreation & Parks Department in one calendar year, serving over 13,175 customers (total number of program visits), offers over 100 programs and special events. This division is dynamic in that changing trends in the community are reflected in changing enrollments, which dictate the types of programs that are offered. Benefits to the community include improved health, education of youth in positive choices for their leisure time, and meeting the needs of working parents during after school hours.
Program fees are generally determined by considering the duration of a program, staff salaries, equipment, and supplies needed to provide a safe, educational and fun program. Many youth programs are subsidized, while adult programs and Camp Kaleidoscope are structured to be self-supporting, with minimum enrollments required.
